Peaches, pears, and floral qualities mix beautifully with a distinct minerality and acidity for a lively pallet that retains just a hint of some of the usual Viognier softness.

Production notes

All Watermill wines are hand picked late in seasons for maximum ripeness. They are then gently pressed in small volumes and undergo inoculated fermentation in 1 to 1.5 ton small lot fermenters. The wine sits on the skins for more than two weeks where it undergoes additional maceration through punch downs and pump overs for color and tannin integration before being transferred to barrel.

Other notes

Another greatly underappreciated varietal, Watermill Viognier is a modern take on the classic Rhone style that acts as a heaver, softer and more floral alternative to chardonnay. The Viognier is a blend of fruit from the Columbia Valley and Walla Walla Valley’s, and is fermented exclusively in stainless steel with no secondary fermentation so that the wines true essence can shine through.
