The Rocks District of Milton-Freewater is known for its distinctive terroir characterized by cobblestone soils and a unique microclimate. These conditions contribute to the wine's exceptional quality and distinct character. The vineyard's rocky terrain allows for excellent drainage and sun exposure, fostering the development of complex flavors in the grapes.
 

Harvest and Production

This 100% Cabernet Franc was meticulously crafted to capture the essence of the Rocks District. The wine was aged for 18 months in a combination of 25% new French oak and 13% new American oak barrels. This oak regimen enhances the wine's structure and complexity. The aging process contributes to the subtle integration of flavors, resulting in a refined and balanced wine. The final product has an alcohol content of 13.8%, a pH of 3.88, and a total acidity of 5.62 g/L.
 

Terroir

The unique terroir of the Rocks District of Milton-Freewater imparts distinct characteristics to this Cabernet Franc. The cobblestone soils and specific climatic conditions allow for the development of rich aromatics and bright fruit flavors. This terroir contributes to the wine's herbaceous frame, showcasing notes of rose petal and leather, with hints of thyme spice and almond on the soft, enjoyable finish.
