2022 Sauvignon Blanc
Vineyard and Terroir
Sourced from the renowned Schmidt Vineyard in the Columbia Valley, this Sauvignon Blanc thrives in an environment of warm days and cool nights, ideal for preserving vibrant acidity and developing expressive fruit character. The vineyard’s well-drained soils and consistent airflow promote balanced vine growth, leading to concentrated citrus, tropical fruit, and floral aromatics that reflect the unique terroir of the Columbia Valley.
Production
Crafted with precision to preserve purity and freshness, this Sauvignon Blanc was fermented 100% in concrete eggs, a method that enhances mouthfeel and builds layered texture. Fermentation lasted 24 days, after which the wine remained on its lees for two months, creating depth and a round, balanced palate. No oak influence ensures the bright fruit flavors stay front and center, with the final wine spending four months in concrete eggs before bottling.
Tasting Notes
Bursting with vibrant citrus and tropical aromas, this Sauvignon Blanc offers a lively nose of key lime, lemon zest, lychee, apple, papaya, and delicate honeysuckle. On the palate, crisp flavors of lime and lemon lead, balanced by subtle notes of lemongrass and exotic tropical fruits. The concrete egg fermentation adds a creamy texture without sacrificing freshness, resulting in a mouthwatering and beautifully balanced wine. The finish is clean, crisp, and refreshing—perfect for spring and summer sipping or pairing with seafood, fresh salads, and light poultry dishes.
