2021 Hallowed Stones Tempranillo
Vineyard and Terroir
Sourced entirely from estate vineyards in the iconic Rocks District of Milton-Freewater, this Tempranillo is a pure expression of its rugged terroir. Vines grow directly in ancient river stones, with grape clusters hanging low to absorb radiant warmth and energy from the rocks. These unique conditions impart pronounced minerality, bold fruit character, and savory complexity, creating a wine that is both powerful and elegantly expressive of its origins.
Production
This small-lot, 100% Tempranillo was aged for 18 months in a thoughtful combination of 25% new American oak and 5% new Hungarian oak, adding rich layers of vanilla, spice, and subtle smoke. Fermentation was carefully managed to preserve the intensity of dark fruit flavors and balance the varietal’s natural structure—a special and limited release with a total production of just 187 cases.
