2021 Hallowed Stones GSM
Vineyard and Terroir
The 2021 Hallowed Stones GSM is sourced from three distinct vineyard sites, each contributing to the wine’s unique character. The Grenache (50%) hails from LR Vineyard, the Syrah (32%) from Stonespeak Vineyard, and the Mourvèdre (13%) from WE Vineyard. These vineyards, located in the renowned Rocks District, are characterized by their rocky soils, imparting minerality and complexity to the wine, enhancing its balance of fruit and earthiness.
Production
This Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre blend was carefully crafted using stainless steel 1 1/2 ton fermenters. After fermentation, the varietals were aged in 50% new French oak barrels, where they developed complexity and depth. Each varietal was aged separately in its respective lot before being meticulously blended and bottled, ensuring harmony in the final product.
Tasting Notes
This wine opens with bright raspberries and subtle hints of vanilla, giving way to layers of body and structure. Dried cherries and allspice add complexity, while the refined tannins and elegant finish highlight the balance of fruit and spice in this expressive GSM blend.
