2022 Chances R Red Blend

The 2022 Chances R Red Blend is sourced from Summit View Vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley, known for its vines planted on loess over basalt, and Sportfisher Vineyard, adjacent to the renowned Cold Creek Vineyard area in Central Washington. Together, these vineyards contribute 70% of the blend. The Desert Wind Vineyard adds structure and finesse with a touch of Indian Wells Vineyard.

 

This blend features 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec, and 3% Petit Verdot. It is 95% barrel-aged in 20% new French and American oak, with 5% aged in stainless steel. Fermented in 37% Nomblot concrete fermenters and 63% custom low/boy stainless steel tanks.

 

The 2022 Chances R Red Blend opens with inviting aromas of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, and a subtle touch of vanilla. On the palate, vibrant red and black fruits unfold seamlessly, layered with toasted oak notes, warm baking spices, and a hint of cocoa. The Merlot lends a plush, velvety texture, while Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc provide structure and depth. A touch of Malbec and Petit Verdot adds complexity and a burst of dark fruit intensity. Balanced tannins and bright acidity carry through to a smooth, lingering finish, leaving subtle notes of toasted spice and dark fruit. Approachable yet complex, this is a versatile red blend crafted for both casual enjoyment and special occasions.
