2022 Estate Cabernet Franc
Vineyard and Terroir Notes
Sourced from Dugger Creek Vineyard in Walla Walla Valley, this Cabernet Franc thrives in Ellisforde loam soils layered with terraced loess. The well-drained, cooler site promotes vibrant, high-toned red fruit expression, characteristic of the vineyard’s unique terroir.
Production Notes
Hand-picked fruit from 100% Dugger Creek Vineyard. The grapes were fermented in one-ton stainless steel fermenters for 16 days, then gently pressed and racked to barrel. Aged for 22 months with 25% new oak (16% new French, 9% new American) to build complexity and elegance.
Tasting Notes
This Cabernet Franc captures the hallmark traits of Walla Walla Valley, with layered aromas of boysenberry, ripe Bing cherry, and a subtle touch of vanilla. On the palate, it reveals classic notes of red currant and earthy undertones, balanced by a refined minerality and a hint of dried herbs. Smooth, integrated oak adds depth and structure, leading to an elegant finish that lingers with fine-grained tannins.
